I've now started the hobby of making decorative pillows for othe people homes.the machine is a little cheap but it does just fine for a beginner like myself, come with 6 different presser foots and 4 bobbins and seam cutter and extras.For the price you I dont think you can do better.

3 Hoops for the Brother SE 350 SE350 Embroidery Machine Review

(More customer reviews)I just purchased this set of three hoops for my Brother SE-400.
This set of hoops works for the SE-350, the SE-400 and the SE-270D Brother embroidery/sewing machines.
To my surprise, all three hoops were grey and not black as illustrated in the picture (the picture does not do justice to the product, as the shapes of the hoops are not exactly as illustrated in the picture). The hoops not only matched exactly the color of my 4"x4" embroidery hoop that originally came with my Brother SE-400 sewing machine, but also matched it in quality. These hoops are well built and sturdy, and each one comes with a transparent grid template, similar to that of my original 4"x4" Brother hoop. The larger hoop is built and looks exactly like the Brother SA434 hoop.
To sum it all, I give this set of hoops a 5-star rating as it is a great buy, both quality wise and price wise.
You get three quality hoops for less than the price of two.

Brother(R) VX1435 Mechanical Sewing Machine Review

(More customer reviews)I got this machine a year ago as a beginning sewer. I really loved it and was able to learn and make many things with it. I discovered and confirmed that sewing was going to be my 'thing'. I did not want my husband buying anything too expensive or fancy just in case I ended up not liking to sew.
Its a basic model and I don't need all of the fancy extras anyway. But now a year later, as my sewing confidence is growing and I am moving on to try new things, the machine stopped working right. There is some sort of problem with the thread. Its not the tension, I have tried everything. We have oiled and dusted it, changed thread, bobbins and fabric. The manual is terrible and not very helpful. The machine still runs but after a few stitches, the thread either breaks or comes out.
It may be a simple problem to fix but not something we can figure out. Since my husband got it for so cheap (and even on sale) he decided to get me a new one instead of paying to have this machine repaired.
We got a Husqvarna Emerald for $299. (a basic model) There is no comparison in how it runs its sturdier and even though its a basic model it has many nice extra features and the manual is great.
Having said that, there is no way that one year ago I'd have wanted a $300 machine not knowing if I would like sewing or not.
The Brother worked great and was easy to learn on, I just think it should have lasted longer than a year. 3 Months ago I probably would have given this 5 stars. Thats how happy I was with it until I started having these frustrating problems. (and an added note...a Husqvarna never needs oiling! How about that?)

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my White 9800 which accepts snap on feet and when I received it, I have to say it is a quality looking product, but that doesn't help me much because although the foot will snap on to my machine - it doesn't stay put during sewing and shifts a little to where the needle will catch on the hole or even hit the foot - so I quit using it to insert an invisible zipper and went the old fashioned way by slowly sewing with my regular zipper foot.
It is a very nice presser foot, don't get me wrong - it just didn't work on my machine. Perhaps it will work for the other brands listed - therefore I can only rate it as ok.

I tried it on lightweight muslin doubled up for a tiny bit of stability and it worked great. The stitches on the normal zigzag lined up perfectly. On the other stitches my machine has, they were close to perfect. If I had simply adjusted my stitch length they would have matched too. This will make for some more personalized projects. Love it.

Johnson Brothers Old Britain Castles Pink 5-Piece Place Setting Review

(More customer reviews)I own an older piece from England. It hangs on my wall, the color is very bright after all of these years.
My newer ones that I just purchased from here, which are made in China- huge difference in color tone, not as bright.
The glaze - some pieces have a couple of bumps just minor flaws. As far as stacking them up on a shelf, it needs paper towel in between pieces for some of the very edges of the plates are not smooth as my older piece has a very smooth back.
Dinner plates - nice, pretty
Salad plates - nice, pretty
Cereal bowl - nice, pretty
Cup and saucer -
Cup very small design not as pretty to look at it. It looks very cheap comparing with the rest of the set.
Saucer, picture not as visible.
Very poor job on both pieces, not as dainty and delicate as the older Johnson Brothers from England. I was very disappointed with both pieces.
Overall review -
The feel of the pieces are the same as my older piece. Glaze and looks are OK, it could be better, taking in consideration that this carries the title/name of a well known name in the tableware/china industry.
I am very sadden that some of the major British dinnerware companies have given up quality for production costs.
I gave it a four star because the set still looks very charming and pretty overall. It still makes a very attractive dinner table with all of the charms of the past.
Shipping was quick. Well packaged and no broken pieces.
