Switch seems a little flimsy though, feels like it might wear out over time.
This is a product I use every day and no problems so far.

(More customer reviews)In the description it says all metal construction, but the stand is made of plastic except for the round base. The motor housing, the switch, etc. are all plastic. They are only made to look like metal.
The motor operation may be whisper quiet, but the blades are loud. Too loud for a small room, in my opinion, even on the lowest setting. I can't compare the noise to other fans this size, so this could be typical.
It does oscillate and tilt, but it comes with only a 1-year warranty. Vornado and Hunter fans come with 5.
Overall, I didn't have any problems with this fan, but I wish the description wasn't misleading. Plastic housing is typically expected in this price range.

(More customer reviews)i purchased a dozen of these fans for our elderly care facility. in 4 months, 5 fans have stopped working. being an electrician, i took them apart to see if there was a short. i learned that the problem is in the motor due to cheap parts and labor. i do not recommend buying optimus oscillating table fans.

(More customer reviews)The fan comes pre-assembled, all you have to do is snap the base "foot" on it, and unwrap the power cord. The fan has three modes: off, low, & high. All of the "on" modes are fairly noisy (as one would expect a cheap fan to be), and all of the "on" modes do a good job of keeping you cool. I use this at my desk in my office which is kept about 10 degrees warmer than I am really comfortable with, and I pretty much have it on me all day long, and it does its job well. For a tiny little 7 inch fan, I feel I most certainly got my money's worth.
