(More customer reviews)Beautiful dishes...great shape...BUT they break incredibly easily. These are NOT microwave safe, regardless of what it says. The black areas of the plates, mugs heat up incredibly hot (we've had several people burned warming up items on these) Even dishwasher use has caused deep cracks in the plates...maybe the glaze isn't watertight. (?) The shape is great, BUT they chip and crack so easily just with moderate use. I have service for 12, and its the same thing with all of the sets. Very breakable. Okay if you want to hand wash and use occasional. Definitely Not for everyday use.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this place setting to add to the franciscan desert rose dishes that I already have ( from England). These poor quality dishes were made in Taiwan and were a different color and the flowers were not the same!!! I would never buy from Amazon again to match a set!!!!

(More customer reviews)Got mine direct from the makers who provide them for the show. I called first to make sure they are safe. Was told on the phone they ARE from China but tested safe. Yet, found out on the CBS Television website that they contain lead & cadmium etc etc who who knows how safe OR unsafe they are!
They ARE gorgeous and cheap if bought from correct source. Handles are comfortable and never hot but the cup body itself does heat. GREAT cups if they don't kill me.....There are 3 different color combos I know of. I have this color in my 1st set.
Below is the warning I found with this mug:

(More customer reviews)This was advertised as a set of four plates. I ordered 4 sets and received 4 plates TOTAL! I called the people who sent the plates and they basically just told me I was out of luck and that Amazon was advertising in a false way. I wanted these for the holidays, and so was stuck not having the dishes I needed for Christmas. I was more than disappointed and felt this was truly false advertising. Even to this day the ad STILL says Friendly Village Dinner Plate 9Set of 4)!!!! It is STILL false advertising. I just wish someone would make this right...

(More customer reviews)I purchased two sets of the Johnson Brothers Old Britain Castles 12-piece Holiday Dinnerware. It is beautiful and very nice quality. I actually was expecting a stoneware or earthenware product. But it is just the opposite. I was somewhat hesitant to purchase the set because it is described as pink and I really did not want pink. The color is more of what I would call a county red. I would recommend this set. It really is beautiful.

They're perfect for a country decor and durable enough for everyday use including in the dishwasher. I'm afraid to run the heated dry though, because of the pattern, but there's nothing saying it would be harmed at all - that's just me, I prefer not to find out;) You'll be happy with the purchase.
