This is a 12 3/4 X 7 1/4 inch platter that is somewhere between rectangular and oval. It is sepia toned with acorn border. I don't know whether every dish in a specific size has the same image, but mine is a picture of Broadway (NY) about a century ago. The backstamp calls it "Historic America II," indicates safe in dishwasher and microwave, and says it is made in England.

Historic America was originally introduced in the 1930's as a tribute to America and reintroduced in 2001 in warm tones of sepia to reflect the sense of history. Each piece features a finely detailed engraving of a famous American city or landmark as a tribute to the memories of early America. The designer selected over 30 different scenes all about 100 years ago, from which copper engravings were made. To lend unity to the series the famous over all "oak and acorn" design was used as the pattern for the border of each piece. Many interesting examples of this designs are to be seen today in the American wing of the Metropolitan Museum and also at the Philadelphia Museum.A distinguishing back stamp bears the American Eagle and the title of each scene. All pieces are dishwasher, freezer, and microwave safe.
