(More customer reviews)I had an electrician install this fan, which I bought from Home Depot. It is a nice looking fan, and has nice features. The main problem with the fan is that it is noisy. There is a very audible hum at all speeds.
I have bought Hunter fans in the past and felt that they were the only choice. My previous one had a case that was made of cast iron. It was extremely quiet. I believe the difference is the case. This fan has a stamped sheet metal case which amplifies the hum from the motor. I would not be able to sleep with this fan on, even at the low speed.
Another problem was that the lights would flicker, even if they were turned off with the remote. I used the Hunter remote.
I wish Hunter would go back to their original quality when they were owned by Emerson. Maybe they still are. Why can't fans have noise ratings on them?
This fan would only be good in a noisy area.
